Progress in research aimed at combating neurodegenerative diseases requires a systematic biophysical analysis. It has been shown that the efficiency of cleaning the brain of metabolic and informational 'toxins' depends on the thresholds of excitation of neural networks and waves of 'pollution and purification' propagating inside the brain. This process affects the increase in the characteristic time of the normal functioning of the brain and, consequently, in human life expectancy.
