The critique of quantum mind: measurement, consciousness, delayed choice, and lost coherencea Lomonosov Moscow State University, Vorobevy Gory, Moscow, 119991, Russian Federation b Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, USA c National Research Centre ‘Kurchatov Institute’, pl. akad. The modern methodology of quantum mechanics offers a consistent explanation of the role of observer's consciousness in physical measurements in universal terms of interaction of a quantum system with environment, loss of quantum coherence, and unitary evolution of the state vector. In this picture, observer's consciousness is no longer an agent that changes the prehistory of a quantum system, but is rather an object of physical study. Instruments and methods based on quantum physics open a new phase in such studies.
