Collider NICA, Superheavy elements and other bright projects of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research: 70 Years of International Science in Dubna

The article is devoted to an overview of the large research infrastructure of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) under operation and a multidisciplinary research program implemented on its basis by the JINR international team in cooperation with scientific organizations of JINR member countries and partners. The main stages in the development and the current state of the international physics program for the NICA accelerator complex, the Superheavy Element Factory and the accelerator complex of the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions, the Baikal Neutrino Telescope BaikalGVD, the pulsed reactor IBR2 with a complex of spectrometers, the multifunctional heterogeneous computing complex of the Laboratory of Information Technologies at JINR, the MSC230 medical proton cyclotron, and radiation research facilities in the field of life sciences are briefly presented. The applied research projects at JINR are also presented, illustrating the interaction and mutual dependence of fundamental, applied, and technological investigations.
