In 2010, based on the superconducting synchrotron Nuclotron, a new accelerator complex NICA (Nuclotron based Ion Collider fAcility) started to be constructed at the Laboratory of High Energy Physics of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, its key facility being the 1.0—4.5 GeV per nucleon heavy ion collider. For the purpose of effectively collecting statistics, an average collider luminosity of 1027 cm−2, s−1 is required. With this collider energy, the cooling of the beam both in the process of storage and during the experiment is mandatory to ensure the required parameters. In this paper, a possible new regime of stochastic cooling is examined.
