Details of the motion of charged nonrelativistic particles in a variable field

,
Lebedev Physical Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences, Leninsky prosp. 53, Moscow, 119991, Russian Federation

It is showh that a particle in an alternating field of force does not in the general case oscillate around its initial position but undergoes a systematic drift. The velocity of the drift depends on the initial conditions.
