Обзоры актуальных проблем


Самофокусировка и дифракция света в нелинейной среде

Дан обзор современного состояния теоретических и экспериментальных работ по самофокусировке мощных световых пучков. Вначале рассмотрена качественная картина самофокусировки и обсуждаются возможные механизмы зависимости показателя преломления от интенсивности волны. В теоретической части обзора подробно излагается геометрическая оптика нелинейной среды. Получено выражение для длины самофокусировки как функции параметров пучка (мощности, радиуса, расходимости) на входе в нелинейную среду. Приведены примеры, показывающие роль и характер нелинейных аберраций. Волновая оптика в нелинейной среде развита в квазиоптическом приближении. Учет дифракционных поправок к длине самофокусировки приводит к понятию критической мощности, при которой дифракционная расходимость компенсируется нелинейной рефракцией.
Представлена теория неустойчивости плоской интенсивной волны при ее распространении в нелинейной среде. Рассмотрено формирование собственного оптического волновода с учетом инерционности нелинейного отклика среды. Обсуждаются особенности протекания нелинейных оптических эффектов в поле самофокусирующихся пучков (вынужденное рассеяние в жидкостях). Проведено сопоставление теоретических и экспериментальных данных по длине самофокусировки и критической мощности.
В заключительной части обзора дан перечень основных проблем самофокусировки, требующих своего дальнейшего всестороннего исследования. Кратко обсуждаются вопросы о роли дифракционных эффектов при нелинейных волновых взаимодействиях, таких, как генерация гармоник, двухфотонпое поглощение, параметрическое усиление и т. д.
