There have been considered the problems of supercapacitors development related to the enhancement of operating characteristics of such systems such as the specific energy sorage, specific released energy, charging-discharging time, the ability to to stand the maximum charge- discharge cycling times without lowering the stored energy etc. One of the approaches to the solution of the above-listed problems relates to the usage of graphene and related materials as electrodes for supercapacitors. The presented article reviews works addressed to the investigation of graphene-based materials with the aim of their usage in supercapacitors. A special attention is paid to hybrid systems in which graphene-based materials are used in combination with metal oxides. Such systems called pseudocapacitors possess higher operation characteristics in comparison with conventional supercapacitors due to the possibility to perform chemical processes on the interface between the electrode and electrolyte.
