Quantum oscillations in three-dimensional topological insulators

Lebedev Physical Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences, Leninsky prosp. 53, Moscow, 119991, Russian Federation

The basic concepts behind topological insulators are briefly reviewed. After discussing what makes some insulators topological and giving a brief history of this fast growing field, recent successes in experiments with these exotic materials are discussed.
