Properties of acoustic polarization vectors in crystals and the phonon Hall effectInstitute of Superconductivity and Solid-State Physics, Russian Research Centre ‘Kurchatov Institute’, pl. Kurchatova 1, Moscow, Russian Federation The properties of acoustic phonon polarization vectors in high-symmetry crystals are considered. Elliptic polarization of phonons in the presence of a magnetic field is shown to occur in crystals with the spin-phonon coupling.
