“The most remarkable of the scientists”: on the occasion of the 130th birthday of L I Mandelstam

Newly discovered evidence and archival material are presented which give a new insight into the life and career of one of the greatest physicists of the twentieth century — Leonid Isaakovich Mandelstam.
