Комбинационному рассеянию света — 70 лет

Излагается краткая история открытия комбинационного рассеяния света (раман-эффекта). Ландсберг и Мандельштам в Москве впервые наблюдали спектральные линии нового явления в кристаллах 21 февраля 1928 г., а опубликовали свои результаты 13 июля 1928 года, а Раман и Кришнан в Калькутте впервые наблюдали спектральные линии того же явления в жидкостях 28 февраля 1928 года, а опубликовали свои результаты 21 апреля 1928 года. В первой же публикации Ландсберг и Мандельштам дали правильное объяснение явления, которое наблюдали. О причине запоздания их публикации сказано в тексте статьи. Сделано краткое замечание о судьбе открытия и открывших его людей. Нобелевская премия по физике в 1930 году за открытие комбинационного рассеяния света была присуждена только одному Раману. Приведена копия списка выдвинутых и выдвигавших на Нобелевскую премию по физике в 1930 году. Упомянуто о развитии исследований комбинационного рассеяния света и приведено несколько примеров современного использования этого явления для научных и практических целей.
