What led you into science and your chosen area of research?
I began to be keen on physics at school. It was my school physics
teacher who evoke a great interest in physics in me. Later when I
became a PhD student
under supervision of Prof. A.V.Gurevich in theoretical department of
Lebedev Physical Institute I met a lot of enthusiastic scientists who
impessed me with their
style of thinking and influenced me in my decision to become
physicist.
Can you describe the results in your paper and their importance for your field?
In our paper was introduced theoretical results and experimental
evidence of a new phenomena -- runaway breakdown.
What research projects are you working on at the moment?
At present I elaborate the theory of hydrodinamic turbulence.
What do you think will be the next big breakthrough in your field?
I think that the theory of hydrodinamic turbulence will be the next big
breakthrough.
What book are you reading right now?
I can't finish reading the book "Daniil Shtain. Interpreter" by Lyudmila Ulitskaya.
If you could have dinner with any 3 people, past or present, who would they be and why?
I prefer to have diner with my friends.
What has been the most exciting moment in your career so far?
I think this moment has not come yet.
What would you like to say in connection with the 90th anniversary of "Uspekhi Fizicheskikh Nauk" journal?
Hope It will never become a glamour illustrated magazine like "Men's Health".
