There are a number of practical applications where devices based on superconducting electronics, having a unique set of parameters, significantly surpass in their characteristics devices based on traditional technologies; in some areas there is no alternative. One of the most successfully explored areas is the development of ultra-sensitive receiving devices in the terahertz (THz) range; their operating frequency has reached 1 THz, and the noise temperature is limited only by the quantum or photon noise.
