Electromagnetic analogies in electro- and magnetostatics problemsMoscow State Institute of Electronic Technology (Technical University), Zelenograd, Moscow, Russian Federation A relation underlying the electromagnetic analogy method has been derived from the Biot€--€Savart and Coulomb laws: the magnetic field B generated by a current I in a closed conducting loop L and the electric field E of a thin double charged layer of the area S bounded by the same loop L are linked by the formula: B=(ϵ0μ0I/p1e), E, where p1e is the electric moment per unit area S and ϵ0μ0 are permittivity and permeability of free space. Examples are given where this electromagnetic analogy may be used for solving a number of electro- and magnetostatics problems.
