It is shown that a necessary condition for the nonreciprocal scattering of unpolarized thermal neutrons is that the spatial distribution of the magnetic induction be noncoplanar. An experiment on neutron transmission through a system of magnetic mirrors is performed in which a nonreciprocity of 75% is reached.
