The storage and confinement of charged particles and anti-particles (electrons, positrons, ions) in open traps and ring accumulators of various designs are considered. Experiments on positron storage in the Penning—Malmberg—Surko trap at the Low-Energy Particle Toroidal Accumulator (LEPTA) are described in detail.
