The origin of mass and experiments on high-energy particle accelerators

Russian Federation State Scientific Center ‘A.I. Alikhanov Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics’, ul. Bolshaya Cheremushkinskaya 25, Moscow, 117259, Russian Federation

The visible world is one consisting of nucleons and electrons. The mass of the nucleon arises from chiral symmetry breaking in quantum chromodynamics (QCD), so high energy accelerator experiments cannot give a clue to the nature of the mass of matter in the visible world. The origin of the mass of the matter will be clarified when the mechanism of chiral symmetry breaking in QCD is established.
