Lebedev Physical Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences, Leninsky prosp. 53, Moscow, 119991, Russian Federation

We consider the theoretical prerequisites for and experimental papers on the coherent radiation of electromagnetic waves by moving sources whose speed exceeds the speed of light in empty space. Examples of this kind are provided by a light spot or a charged filament incident on an interface between two media.
