An example illustrating the potentiality and peculiarities of a variational approach to electrostatic problems

Department of Physics, Krasnoyarsk State University, pr. Svobodnyi 79, Krasnoyarsk, 660041, Russian Federation

The advantages and peculiarities of the variational method of solving electrostatic problems are clearly illustrated using the ground resistance as a relatively simple example.
