Gravitational-wave astronomy: new methods of measurements

Lomonosov Moscow State University, Faculty of Physics, Leninskie Gory 1 build. 2, Moscow, 119991, Russian Federation

The current status of gravitational-wave astronomy is reviewed. Advances in ground-based antennae are discussed and new methods of measurement that promise a considerable improvement in sensitivity are described. The promise held out by the improved antenna technologies is discussed.
